After spending nearly two decades in the healthcare sector, Sophie realised her true passion lay in helping people better understand themselves. Her journey from nursing and healthcare administration to life coaching and number profiling was shaped by her own experiences of personal growth, self-discovery and continuous learning.

Today, as the founder of Numalife 617 Pte Ltd, Sophie combines life coaching with number profiling to help individuals gain greater self-awareness, strengthen their relationships and make more confident decisions in both their personal and professional lives. Through her work, she hopes to empower people to overcome limiting beliefs, discover their strengths and create more purposeful, fulfilling lives.

You began your career in nursing before becoming a life coach and number profiling specialist. What inspired this transition?

Nursing was my first job after graduating with a Diploma in Nursing. I worked as a nurse from 1997 until shortly before the SARS outbreak, before moving into a back-end healthcare role, where I managed patient case records and submitted diagnosis and procedure data to the Ministry of Health. I remained in that role for almost 19 years.

My journey into life coaching began during the COVID-19 pandemic. After experiencing a difficult period, I engaged a life coach who encouraged me to take up a personality test. My results showed strong coaching-related strengths, and she encouraged me to pursue a life coaching certification through the Mars Venus Coaching programme in 2021.

I started coaching part-time while continuing my full-time job. In early 2023, a friend introduced me to number profiling because I enjoy learning new things. Initially, I was sceptical and did not believe numbers could reveal anything meaningful about a person.

About six months later, I resigned from my job and revisited the course. I realised I had overlooked many important concepts, so I devoted the next two years to learn more about number profiling and understanding myself first. Eventually, I combined number profiling with life coaching, which is how I transitioned into what I do today.

Where did the name Ms. Clarity come from, and what does it represent to you?

The name actually came from my BNI chapter, Lighthouse. When I first joined as a life coach, I introduced myself as a “Personal Clarity Consultant”, but many people found the title confusing. Our chapter president, Jenny, suggested calling me “Ms. Clarity” because my work is all about helping people gain clarity. The name was simple, memorable and reflected what I do.

After checking that very few people were using it, I decided to adopt it. The name also has a deeper meaning. Through coaching and number profiling, my clients gain clarity about themselves, while I also gain new insights by reading their profiles and learning from their experiences. It is a journey of mutual growth.

In your experience, what are the biggest blind spots people have about themselves?

Many blind spots are shaped by a person’s environment, childhood experiences and the stories they tell themselves. These beliefs often become so deeply rooted that people no longer question them. During coaching sessions, clients may initially say they want help with their careers or finances.

However, as we talk, it often becomes clear that the real issue lies elsewhere, such as relationships, self-worth or limiting beliefs that affect other areas of their lives. Many people believe negative labels that others have placed on them, such as “You’re not good enough” or “Your energy is messy”. When I work with them, I often discover these beliefs are not true at all

How does greater self-awareness influence confidence, decision-making and emotional resilience?

Greater self-awareness helps us recognise unhealthy patterns and make better decisions. For example, I realised that I often ignored my own feelings in order to get along with dominant personalities. Looking back, I had switched off my self-awareness because I wanted to avoid conflict. Once I recognised that pattern, I could decide whether those relationships were healthy and whether I wanted to continue investing in them.

Self-awareness also helps us separate emotional triggers from rational decision-making. Instead of reacting emotionally, we can understand why we feel triggered and respond more calmly. As I became more self-aware, I also grew more confident. Today, I am much more comfortable interacting with strong personalities because I understand both myself and them better.

Number profiling is still unfamiliar to many people. Could you explain what it is and how it helps people improve communication and relationships?

Number profiling is a form of numerology that has existed for centuries. Similar systems have been used in both Eastern and Western traditions, although different schools apply different methods. The approach I use is based on a person’s birth date and does not require their birth time. It identifies different personality traits and behavioural patterns through specific number combinations.

For me, it became especially helpful in my own marriage. There were times when my husband became upset over seemingly small matters, and I struggled to understand why. Through number profiling, I learnt more about his personality.

Once I understood his communication style, I learnt how to express myself in ways that resonated with him instead of unintentionally triggering conflict. Number profiling helps us understand how different people think, communicate and process emotions, allowing us to build stronger relationships.

If you could speak to your younger self, what would you say, and why?

I would tell myself to be braver, more confident and to believe that I am good enough. Growing up, I experienced emotional and verbal abuse from my father. As a result, I became fearful of people with dominant personalities and often wanted to avoid them.

Today, I have learnt that I can handle those situations with confidence. Looking back, I wish I had believed in myself much earlier.

What is your vision for Singapore in the next five years?

I believe Singapore will experience significant changes as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives. Many careers will evolve, and people will need to adapt to new ways of working. I also see growing opportunities for tools such as number profiling because people increasingly want faster ways to gain clarity about their careers, relationships and personal development.

AI is not something we should fear. Instead, we should learn how to leverage it to improve our work and create new opportunities. Those who embrace change with the right mindset will be better positioned for the future.

If you could have one superpower for a day, what would it be, and why?

I would choose teleportation. I have always wanted to travel to Europe, and being able to teleport instantly would allow me to explore different countries without spending hours on a plane. It would save time, make travelling much easier and allow me to experience more places in a single day.
