Meet Shaney, a teacher and practitioner of I Ching and numerology whose life’s work bridges ancient metaphysics with modern-day clarity. After a series of personal trials led her to traditional Chinese wisdom, Shaney has since dedicated her life to helping others find their true path through energetic profiling, inner alignment, and practical spiritual tools.
Whether guiding clients through career confusion, relationship entanglements, or emotional crossroads, Shaney’s mission is clear: to help people rediscover their inner strength and walk their path with clarity and courage. Through her teachings, she brings light into lives—one insight at a time.
What first inspired you to study the I Ching and numerology, and how did these ancient systems become part of your life’s work?
The inspiration didn’t come from a single event, but rather a series of experiences, beginning with my children. My son was involved in two major accidents in the first four years of his life, one in Hokkaido and another in Singapore.
During that difficult period, I began seeking answers and was drawn to studying traditional Eastern culture. I discovered the I Ching and realised that events in our lives don’t just happen randomly. They follow a deeper rhythm.
The I Ching teaches that life is a continuous, dynamic flow. It’s not just about personal energy, but a larger cosmic dance. When I combined that understanding with numerology, I found a practical map for navigating life.
Today, I use this knowledge daily. I teach classes to help others find clarity and empowerment using the ancient wisdom of I Ching and numbers in modern life.
What are some common misconceptions people have about the I Ching and numerology?
The most common misconception is that we are fortune tellers. People often come to me and ask, “Can you tell me when I’ll strike 4D?” But this work isn’t about predicting random luck. It’s much more profound.
I Ching and numerology involve profiling, akin to big data. Patterns in numbers can reveal personality traits and behavioural tendencies. These insights help us understand why someone may be stuck or not achieving what they desire.
It’s not about hopelessness or fear, but it’s about direction and clarity. With this understanding, people can avoid repeated negative patterns, navigate relationships better, and recover more quickly from setbacks.
You often work with people facing relationship changes, emotional entanglements, or career stagnation. What patterns do you notice in these challenges?
Many people face challenges because they are chasing a “perfect life”, defined by harmonious relationships, health, wealth, and purpose. But one universal pattern I see is resistance to the natural flow of life.
People resist change, even though change is the only constant. In love or career, some repeat painful patterns because they don’t recognise how their energy or numbers influence their choices. They may keep choosing the wrong partners or feel lost in their career paths.
Through numerology and the I Ching, we can decode these patterns and guide them towards clarity and self-awareness. For me, this work isn’t a job. It’s my life’s calling to help light the path for others.

The most common misconception is that we are fortune tellers. People often come to me and ask, “Can you tell me when I’ll strike 4D?” But this work isn’t about predicting random luck. It’s much more profound.
You mentioned that the I Ching teaches that change is constant. How do you help clients embrace change instead of resisting it?
During consultations, I often share the idea that we have three versions of ourselves: the version others see, the version we see, and the true self. Many people don’t know who they truly are. My role is to help them unfold that true self and encourage them to believe in their own potential.
When they are afraid of change or resist growth, I guide them to understand their energy patterns and how they can improve. Whether it’s in marriage, career, or personal growth, embracing their higher self helps them walk a smoother path. We focus on igniting their inner potential, so they move forward with clarity and courage.
If someone is confused about their career or relationship, how can their numbers guide them to better choices?
In numerology, we use five elements—metal, water, fire, wood, and earth—each linked to different industries. For example, if someone has a dominant water number, they may thrive in a metal-related industry like finance or consulting.
However, this isn’t about forcing a career change. It’s about awareness. If you’re in a mismatched industry, we explore what challenges might arise, but also how you might break through and shine despite them.
The same principle applies to relationships. Certain pairings are naturally harmonious, while others require more effort and understanding. I never tell someone to break up with a long-term partner.
Instead, I guide them to understand the dynamic and how they can adjust to create a more balanced relationship. It’s about working with what is, rather than chasing what isn’t.
Can you describe one of the happiest or most meaningful days of your life?
There have been many joyful moments since I started teaching metaphysics. But one that stands out is seeing the light return to people’s eyes.
Students often come into my three-day workshops feeling lost. By the end, many say, “Teacher, you’ve changed my life.” We celebrate together, and I feel immense joy and fulfilment as a teacher.
On the personal front, I’m grateful to be able to support my husband’s wish to stay home and raise our children. Both my kids were tested to have above-average IQs, and I’m proud to witness their growth. These are all blessings I cherish deeply.
What’s your vision for Singapore in the next five years?
I hope Singapore becomes a global model for balanced growth, one that merges cutting-edge technology with timeless human wisdom. As we enter the age of AI, we must also prioritise mental and spiritual well-being.
True sustainability isn’t just about building or innovating—it’s about asking: Should we build this? How does it impact the human spirit? I believe our future lies in creating a society that is not only smart, but wise, compassionate, and resilient.
If you could have a superpower for one day, what would it be and why?
I would choose the ability to grant people true self-reflection and clarity. I want to help them see their motivations, blind spots, and path clearly. With that awareness, people wouldn’t need superpowers because they would realise their own power was always within them.
