Meet Jane, a dynamic professional with a background in technology and fintech, who thrives in one of the most complex and fast‑evolving industries, seamlessly blending technical expertise with a passion for innovation and growth. Her journey is one of self-discovery, resilience, and redefining what success looks like in both analytical and creative realms.
Balancing both logic and emotion, Jane found her strength not in conforming to others’ expectations, but in combining her unique abilities. Whether she’s explaining technical solutions to non-technical audiences, or walking the stage as a beauty queen, she leads with authenticity and warmth. Her story proves that confidence can be cultivated, and that with the right mindset, anyone can pursue multiple passions.
You have an impressive background in technology and fintech, yet you also hold a title in the world of beauty pageantry. What inspired you to pursue two seemingly different paths?
Technology was not something I intentionally chose. Due to limited university options at the time, I ended up studying it. Honestly, I found it very challenging—especially anything hands-on. However, I discovered I could combine it with my communication skills.
Once I understand a concept, I find it easy to explain it to people who don’t have a tech background. I realised that when you’re not good at something, you should find what you’re really good at. That’s what gives life meaning and fulfilment.
That’s also one reason I joined the beauty pageant. I wasn’t confident in my appearance at first, but my belly dancing teacher, Jamila, saw potential in me and kept encouraging me. The pageant wasn’t just about looks; it was about how you can inspire others through your story.
I realised I could use the platform to empower other girls and create a supportive community. I gained so much confidence through the experience, and it made me see that everyone has their own version of beauty.
Winning Beauty Pageant Extraordinarie 2024 must have been a defining moment. What message do you hope to champion through this platform?
I want to tell people: give yourself a chance. If you’re curious or passionate about something, explore it. You might not win every time, but you’ll always gain something unexpected.
Many people wouldn’t assume I’m a beauty pageant winner just by looking at me, but I’m proof that appearance isn’t everything. When you put your heart into something, life surprises you.

Many people see beauty and technology as opposite worlds—one artistic, one analytical. How do you bridge these two sides of your identity?
Technology is logical and structured, but people are not always that way. I serve as a bridge between the tech world and non-tech individuals. Part of me enjoys maths, but I’m also very emotional and love storytelling.
In junior college, I enjoyed writing articles from different perspectives. These traits allow me to connect with both logic and emotion, which I believe helps me add value.
The fintech industry is evolving rapidly, especially with AI, blockchain, and digital finance shaping the future. What excites you most about where the industry is heading?
The most exciting thing is the unknown. Technology has already changed the world, and there’s still so much potential. For example, the concept of the metaverse fascinated me.
It opens up an entire imaginary world where creativity is limitless. With AI and blockchain, there’s a chance to reshape how we live and interact. The possibilities are endless.
Have you ever encountered stereotypes or misconceptions either as a woman in technology or as a beauty queen?
Yes, I’m often introduced as the “most good-looking solution architect” in my team. I appreciate the compliment, but I also prove myself through results—by the number of projects I close and the clients I help.
Usually, people start by noticing my appearance, but over time, they realise there’s more to me. The stereotype becomes a conversation starter, but it’s the work that earns lasting respect.
What legacy would you like to leave behind, not just in your career, but in the lives you hope to touch?
I once read a story about a writer whose yard was bare. But after his son visited and left, the yard was full of flowers. That’s the kind of legacy I want. Whether through a performance, a conversation, or simply being there for someone, I want to bring joy, encouragement, and a sense of support.
It doesn’t have to be grand, as long as I can bring positivity and energy into others’ lives, that’s enough.
What’s your vision for Singapore over the next five years?
Hopefully, no more pandemics! But beyond that, I hope Singapore can become a place where people find more meaning beyond just work. Right now, many are so focused on their jobs that they don’t truly enjoy life.
I envision more cultural events, diversity of thought, and opportunities—especially for those from low or middle-income backgrounds—to enjoy life and feel supported. The government is doing a great job, but I hope we can go even further in creating a society where joy and community are accessible to all.
If you could have a superpower for one day, what would it be and why?
I’d want to know everything! Especially in research, where solving the unknown is the challenge. Having vast knowledge across fields would let me create exciting things and environments—not just for myself, but for others too.
I enjoy learning, but I want to experience the joy of creating as well.
