Known affectionately as 热心教师 “Teacher Lynn,” she has helped transform struggling learners into achievers with her engaging, motivational, and deeply personalised approach. With a passion for holistic growth and work-life integration, Lynn continues to champion purposeful education, empowering both students and educators in every region she serves.

What inspired you to specialise in cognitive development, and how did your journey into cognitive training begin?

In 2016, I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Ng Meng Lek, a Singaporean educational psychologist, at the Asia Parenting Conference, where he was a keynote speaker and I was part of the organising team. After the event, he approached me to share his brainchild—NeuroLAT—an A.I.-powered cognitive training platform built upon a database of over one million questions.

Dr. Ng had dedicated 21 years to designing personalised exercises that strengthen students’ cognitive abilities through one-on-one coaching. This potentially yields life-changing impact using artificial intelligence, making it accessible to families from the comfort of their homes.

I was deeply moved by both his passion and the potential of the platform. I saw not just a tool, but a powerful legacy—one that could democratise access to cognitive development. However, turning that vision into reality meant taking a leap of faith. I sought early support from our benefactor, Mr. Goh Yeow Tin, Chairman of the Ang Mo Kio Constituency. We are deeply grateful for Mr. Goh’s unwavering guidance and support. Without his wisdom, insights, and decisiveness, we would not have come this far.

The early days building a start-up were challenging, yet deeply fulfilling. I worked tirelessly over two years to pilot and refine our programs—listening intently to feedback from parents, enhancing our customer support processes, and fine-tuning the delivery model—until we arrived at a sustainable, winning formula.

The parents’ insights were invaluable—and their encouragement even more so. I’m incredibly grateful that to-date, more than 40 parents have since volunteered heartfelt testimonials, sharing how our recommendations have reignited their children’s love for learning and boosted their confidence both in school and in life.

You’ve assessed over 700 students and developed tailored solutions for learning challenges. What are some common misconceptions parents have about cognitive abilities?

A common misconception is that children will eventually “grow out” of their learning difficulties as they mature. In reality, unaddressed cognitive challenges can persist—and even intensify—as academic demands increase with age. These challenges often affect students’ ability to evaluate situations, make sound judgments, retain information, and process it efficiently. Without timely intervention, many experience chronic frustration, declining confidence, and emotional stress.

At Chayil Consulting, we co-developed holistic solutions that combine brain science, values-based education, and emotional growth strategies. We offer targeted cognitive training to address some of the learning issues at their root, enabling students to progress toward their normal—or even optimal—cognitive potential.

Another widespread myth is that students with more pronounced special needs—such as global developmental delay or moderate autism—must struggle with these challenges for life. This simply isn’t true. One Malaysian student with global developmental delay tripled his cognitive growth in just 3 years.

We’ve seen wonders in unexpected cases. One student, previously advised to undergo brain surgery, was able to avoid it entirely after cognitive training enabled her to thrive academically—especially in mathematics. Another, who had undergone surgery, blossomed into a gifted learner with an exceptional memory for song lyrics.

Importantly, cognitive training isn’t just for the young. One of my adult learners, an educated lady in her 60s, joined us after noticing signs of memory decline and executive functioning slowdown. Upon assessment, we traced a lifelong struggle with visualisation, logical deduction, and deeper critical thinking skills—areas often overlooked in her early education.

Paired with tailored nutritional support, she’s now experiencing cognitive renewal and enjoying mental clarity that she never thought possible.

You co-developed a plant-based alternative healing treatment for ADHD, ADD, and mild ASD. How does this approach complement traditional interventions?

Scientific research has established that mercury accumulation in the body is a contributing factor to hyperactivity. The conventional approach to removing heavy metals is chelation therapy, which, while effective, carries significant risks—including vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and long-term kidney or liver impairment.

An alternative, plant-based healing treatment supports the body’s natural detoxification processes, enhancing liver function to safely eliminate heavy metals. When administered correctly with the appropriate dosage and within a safe timeline, substantial amounts of mercury and lead can be flushed out within a 14 to 28-day cycle.

This method offers a significantly safer and more effective alternative to chelation therapy, as it poses no risk of organ damage or adverse side effects.

A common misconception is that children will eventually “grow out” of their learning difficulties as they mature. In reality, unaddressed cognitive challenges can persist—and even intensify—as academic demands increase with age.

In developing such a specialised approach, what challenges did you encounter while trying to grow your reach?

What we do is a highly specialised field that requires passion, commitment, and expertise to guide students toward their breakthroughs. However, finding consultants and teachers with both extensive coaching experience and a genuine dedication to supporting students beyond school hours is not easy. The need is great, but capable hands are few.

Scaling successfully—while maintaining high service standards—requires a team of rigorously trained and carefully selected professionals who adhere to our operational SOPs.

Unlike many educational programs where parents are left stranded due to unavailable or unresponsive sales representatives, we prioritise long-term support. Several parents have confided in us about past experiences where they invested in other programs only to find themselves without proper follow-up care.

To prevent this, we uphold a 365-day accessibility policy, ensuring that parents can always reach me or a consultant directly via our personal phone numbers. This guarantees that there is always an executive on duty, ready to assist—just a call or message away.

Though we have had opportunities to commercialise on a larger scale, we have consciously chosen not to take that path. Instead, we remain committed to our core values, keeping our pricing as affordable as possible while ensuring the business remains sustainable—because education should be about impact, not just profit.

What do you think makes a good entrepreneur?

I believe that true leadership means rolling up one’s sleeves and being fully involved in the thick and thin of business operations. A great entrepreneur must not only lead but also coach, problem-solve, and demonstrate results—setting an example that inspires the team to go the extra mile.

Through my journey, I’ve learned that my team members are not just numbers in a database; they are individuals with talents, aspirations, and personal needs needing to be trained and mentored. Recognising this, I restructured the company to support work-from-home mothers, allowing them to work four days a week or flexibly pace their hours. This enables them to balance household responsibilities, self-care, personal development, social needs and work without compromise. Additionally, I offer sabbatical breaks when needed, ensuring long-term well-being and job satisfaction.

In our company, no one is called a “boss.” We are all team members—collaborating, supporting, and growing together.

Beyond education, you have an extensive background in corporate consulting, leadership training, and healthcare marketing. How have these experiences shaped your approach to education and business?

My experience in corporate consulting enables me to adopt a macro perspective, identifying key pillars of team structural support while effectively managing and navigating the firm’s direction in alignment with our core mission and fundamental values. Additionally, my understanding of the legal implications of brand building ensures that we are well protected for long-term sustainability.

I advocate for servant leadership, fostering a culture where accountability is prioritised, and every team member plays a vital role in sustaining year-round operations. Furthermore, my background in medical tourism and healthcare provides valuable insights into consumer behaviour and psychology across the Asia-Pacific region.

Looking ahead, what are your future goals for Chayil Consulting and your other ventures in education, wellness, and consulting?

I am currently expanding our brand portfolio with three new initiatives: Life Explorer Camps, Organisational Development Consulting and Joyful Well-Being Workforce Professional Certifications with Dr Tommy and our team of experts. These programs are designed to empower working professionals, parents, and students with age-specific holistic growth and development knowledge, equipping them with essential, hands-on life skills.

Through these programs, we aim to cultivate resilience, leadership, and well-being, ensuring that learning is not just academic but also practical and transformative.

I hope to attract more like-minded associate partners, consultants, and work-from-home mothers as teachers to join us in this meaningful mission. Through our holistic programs, we aim to reach and support more parents and students, enhancing their well-being and making a lasting impact on students’ lives. By expanding our team with passionate and dedicated professionals, we can extend our outreach and continue serving the community with excellence.

What’s your vision for Singapore in the next five years?

In alignment with Prime Minister Wong’s vision for empowering the younger generation, my associate training partner, The Enneagram Academy, and I have been collaboratively developing modular workshops designed to instill essential lifelong skills and practical know-how for both parents and their children.

By facilitating early self-discovery among tweens and teens—uncovering their strengths, giftedness, and intrinsic motivations—we aim to guide them towards a more purpose-driven approach to studies and career planning. This foundation not only builds confidence but also cultivates a generation that is future-ready, self-aware, and resilient.
