What inspired you to become a neurological hypnotherapist and start C.O.W. Soulmate?
For over 13 years, I worked in corporate roles as a corporate secretary, handling office and commercial work. Like many people in the corporate world, I experienced high levels of stress and an unstable work-life balance.
I started exploring different interests, such as art, psychology, and metaphysics, purely for fun and as a freelance pursuit. However, over time, I became more deeply involved in nutrition as I sought to improve my health, which had suffered due to overworking and emotional imbalances.
Through my journey in wholesome nutrition and health coaching, I experienced a complete physical and mental transformation. As I began coaching others in nutrition and health, I noticed that many people wanted to be healthy but struggled to control their habits, manage stress, and break emotional patterns.
I realised that their emotional and psychological barriers were preventing them from achieving their health goals. This motivated me to expand my knowledge beyond nutrition and study various therapeutic techniques like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and traditional counseling methods.
During my research, I discovered hypnotherapy and learned that it was one of the most effective approaches for helping people overcome trauma, mental blocks, and emotional imbalances. I started self-studying hypnosis, but because the subject was highly technical and subjective, I decided to enroll in a certified program to gain formal training.
Through practical sessions, I experienced the power of hypnotherapy firsthand—it helped me release my own emotional burdens and gain clarity over past struggles. My personal healing journey made me even more determined to help others.
Today, I specialise in neurological hypnotherapy, using scientifically backed techniques to help people overcome emotional trauma, reduce stress, and achieve mental clarity.
C.O.W. stands for “Create Own Wellness.” Can you share the philosophy behind this name and how it guides your work?
The name C.O.W. Soulmate has multiple layers of meaning. Firstly, “Create Own Wellness” represents my belief that everyone has the ability to shape their own health and happiness. The word “C.O.W.” also holds personal significance because I was born in the Year of the Ox.
I wanted a name that would be memorable and meaningful to people seeking healing. Many individuals believe that wellness and transformation are only for certain types of people, but my philosophy is that everyone can create their own path to healing. The second part of the name, “Soulmate,” represents two things:
Firstly, it is a connection to one’s inner self. Many people struggle with emotional pain because they are disconnected from their own soul and inner desires. I help clients reconnect with their authentic selves to heal from within.
Next, it represents a trusted guide. Just as people seek a soulmate for emotional support, I want C.O.W. Soulmate to be a place where clients feel safe, understood, and guided on their healing journey. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where people can openly heal.
How does neurological hypnotherapy differ from traditional therapy, and what makes it effective for emotional healing and personal growth?
Neurological hypnotherapy integrates scientific techniques like Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and guided hypnosis.
Traditional therapy often focuses on verbal discussions and conscious reasoning, but many emotional traumas are deeply stored in the subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy directly accesses the subconscious, allowing individuals to identify, process, and release past traumas more effectively.
My approach includes brainwave stimulation to guide clients into a relaxed, receptive state. Regression therapy to revisit and heal past emotional wounds. Sensory-based techniques that engage visual, auditory, and kinesthetic experiences to reprogram negative beliefs. There are also body-mind connection exercises such as Hypno-Dance and Hypno-Workout, which use movement therapy to release stored trauma in the body.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that hypnotherapy is a form of mind control. Many people have seen hypnosis portrayed in movies or stage performances where individuals appear to be under complete control of the hypnotist.
Neurological hypnotherapy is powerful because it works at both the mental and physiological levels, helping clients release fear, overcome limiting beliefs, and experience lasting transformation.
Many people struggle with limiting beliefs and past trauma. What are some common misconceptions about hypnotherapy, and how do you address them?
One of the biggest misconceptions is that hypnotherapy is a form of mind control. Many people have seen hypnosis portrayed in movies or stage performances where individuals appear to be under complete control of the hypnotist.
However, hypnotherapy does not work that way. In a therapeutic setting, you are always in control. A hypnotherapist cannot make you do anything against your will. You cannot be forced to reveal secrets. Hypnosis is a state of deep focus and relaxation, but you remain fully aware of your surroundings.
Stage hypnosis is for entertainment purposes, while clinical hypnotherapy is a scientific healing technique. To address these concerns, I educate my clients before every session and ensure they feel safe and comfortable throughout the process. Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool for self-discovery and healing, but it only works if the client is willing and open to the process.
Can you share a success story where your therapy made a significant transformation in someone’s life?
One of my clients struggled with severe sleep issues and dependence on sleeping medication. Despite trying various treatments, she could not sleep without medication.
Through hypnotherapy and guided subconscious reprogramming, she was able to identify the underlying emotional causes of her sleep disorder. This releases stress and anxiety stored in her subconscious. She regained natural sleep cycles without relying on medication.
Another client faced extreme fear and emotional distress due to unresolved childhood trauma. After uncovering and clearing the deep-rooted emotional triggers, she experienced greater self-confidence and emotional resilience. She experienced stronger family relationships, including improved communication with her spouse. This allows her to pursue personal growth.
Looking ahead, what are your future plans for C.O.W. Soulmate, and how do you hope to expand its impact?
My vision is to create a one-stop holistic wellness centre that integrates mental and emotional healing, physical wellness and also spiritual balance. I want to create a place where people can experience all of these in one space.
This could include fitness and movement therapy to release stored trauma in the body, guided relaxation and meditation spaces for mental clarity and also nutritional counseling to promote holistic well-being.
Where do you see yourself, and what’s your vision for Singapore in the next five years?
I envision myself leading a wellness movement in Singapore—one that integrates mental health, holistic healing, and personal development. I also hope to collaborate with schools, businesses, and community groups to promote mental well-being as a priority. Many workplaces focus on physical health but overlook mental resilience.
My goal is to change this mindset and advocate for mental health awareness and healing practices to be integrated into everyday life.
Ultimately, I want to help Singaporeans embrace a healthier, more balanced lifestyle—one where emotional healing, mental clarity, and physical well-being go hand in hand.
