Meet Jimmy, the founder of The Cardify, a company that merges innovation, sustainability, and convenience in the world of business printing. With a strong commitment to sustainability, Jimmy ensures that eco-friendly materials and practices are at the forefront of the business, reducing carbon footprints while maintaining high-quality printing services. He is redefining the way professionals connect—offering smart, sustainable, and stylish solutions for modern business needs.
What inspired you to start The Cardify during the Covid pandemic, and how did you identify the need for smart business cards?
Starting The Cardify during the Covid pandemic was driven by a mix of innovation and necessity. The sudden shift to remote work and virtual interactions made traditional business cards obsolete, as face-to-face networking became limited.
However, the need to exchange contact information and build professional connections persisted. This gap sparked the idea for smart business cards. The key inspiration was the desire to create a seamless, contactless solution that adapted to the new normal.
With smart business cards, users could easily share their information through a simple tap or scan, ensuring both safety and convenience.
Overall, The Cardify aimed to bridge the gap between physical and digital networking. This forward-thinking approach transformed a traditional concept into a tech-savvy solution, meeting the evolving needs of the business community.
Sustainability is a key focus for The Cardify. How do you ensure your products remain eco-friendly while maintaining high quality?
As the founder of The Cardify, I prioritise sustainability not just for business but for the environment as well. For material selection, we prioritise using recycled and sustainable materials for our smart business cards, including eco-friendly plastics.
Our manufacturing processes minimise waste and energy consumption. We work with suppliers and manufacturers who share our commitment to sustainability, ensuring every step of production is as eco-friendly as possible.
We also create high-quality and durable products, which reduces the need for frequent replacements, thus conserving resources while ensuring customers get long-lasting value. Even if the staff leave a company, their cards can be reset and reused through our backend dashboard.
We consistently research and implement new ways to enhance our sustainability practices, staying up-to-date with the latest eco-friendly technologies and materials.
What challenges did you face when launching the company during the pandemic, and how did you overcome them?
Launching The Cardify during the Covid pandemic came with its own set of challenges. The pandemic caused significant disruptions in global supply chains, leading to delays in sourcing materials and components. We built strong relationships with multiple suppliers to ensure a steady supply of materials.
The economic impact of the pandemic created uncertainty, making it difficult to predict customer demand and financial stability.
We adopted an agile business model, allowing us to quickly pivot and respond to market changes. To sustain operations, we brought our printing machines home and converted my room into a production space, ensuring we could continue meeting customer demands.
Traditional marketing channels, such as in-person events and networking, were no longer viable. We shifted our focus to digital marketing, using social media, online advertising, and content marketing to showcase our products and engage potential customers.

I am committed to sustainability as mentioned earlier. Our vision aligns with Singapore’s national sustainability goals. We focus on responsible material sourcing, eco-friendly production, and reducing our carbon footprint.
How do smart business cards differ from traditional ones, and what advantages do they offer professionals today?
Smart business cards modernise the traditional exchange of contact information. They use QR codes and Near Field Communication (NFC) for seamless sharing of contact details, social media profiles, and more.
Unlike traditional cards, smart business cards can be updated online without needing reprints. They are designed for reuse, which reduce paper waste and contribute to sustainability which I mentioned earlier.
These cards also allow users to share multimedia content, portfolios, and videos, which leaves a stronger impression. Some platforms provide engagement analytics, helping users track interactions and networking efforts.
The business printing industry is competitive. What sets The Cardify apart from other printing services in the market?
The Cardify stands out in the competitive printing industry by operating in Malaysia, where lower overhead costs allow us to offer significantly reduced prices. This enables our clients to benefit from more affordable printing services without compromising on quality.
Additionally, we provide a comprehensive range of services, including customised business cards, brochures, banners, and other high-quality printed materials tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
Can you share a memorable success story from a client who benefited from your smart business cards or printing solutions?
One of our most memorable success stories comes from a startup founder, E. She launched her tech consultancy firm during the pandemic and struggled with networking in a virtual world.
She needed a seamless way to share her contact information in virtual meetings while also showcasing her portfolio and social media presence. Using The Cardify’s smart business card, she could share her details via a simple tap or scan, linking to her website, LinkedIn profile, and a video introduction.
Emily experienced a significant boost in networking success. She connected effortlessly with clients, partners, and investors, attributing part of her firm’s growth to the efficient networking experience The Cardify provided.
Do you see any new trends emerging in the printing and corporate gifting space?
Key trends emerging in 2025 include sustainable and eco-friendly gifts. Companies are prioritising recycled materials and biodegradable packaging.
Personalised and customisable gifts enhance the gifting experiences. I also observe an increase in experiential gifting, where virtual classes and experiences are becoming sought-after alternatives to physical gifts.
Where do you see yourself, and what’s your vision for Singapore in the next five years?
I am committed to sustainability as mentioned earlier. Our vision aligns with Singapore’s national sustainability goals. We focus on responsible material sourcing, eco-friendly production, and reducing our carbon footprint.
Just as Singapore prioritises economic growth and innovation, we aim to contribute by fostering sustainable business practices. Ultimately, The Cardify is proud to be part of Singapore’s journey toward a greener future, inspiring businesses to embrace sustainability.
