Norvin’s unique blend of skills and charisma keeps people engaged and coming back for more. His passion for spreading happiness and creating unforgettable moments shines through in everything he does. How did he get started on this journey? Here’s his story.

What inspired you to combine magic, balloon art, and content creation into your career?

Right now, I think social media has been picking up in recent years. So I think creating content can help build businesses. If you post something about your business online, people will follow you, be inspired by you, and check out your page for your content.

Then they will know that you’re running a business. Sometimes I do magic, twist balloons, or create balloon decor at events, and I post those on my social media.

How did you join Double Up as an onscreen talent?

I was doing Chinese content at that time and I saw one of their sponsored ads. So I approached them to do a collaboration and they roped me into Double Up and that’s how I got started.

Can you share a memorable experience or performance that had a significant impact on your journey as an entertainer?

The most memorable experience was winning an award at a magic competition. It had a huge impact on my journey as a magician, helping me go further and entertain others. When people know you’re an award-winning magician, they will tend to hire you.

What role has social media played in expanding your audience and business opportunities?

Now, people recognise me on the street. I’m not very famous, but people know I do magic. Sometimes at events, when customers hire me, their friends see my content online and will hire me as well. As a content creator, you need to be trustworthy.

I usually don’t really care about the backlash. People will hate you, but people will also like you. I care more about those who like me.

How do you come up with new and innovative tricks or balloon designs to keep your audience entertained?

I have a group of friends who also do magic, and we share knowledge and ideas. We talk about new tricks and ideas in the market. I mainly do kids’ magic every weekend. In 2025, I have a brand new stage act, which I’m still working on. I’ll keep updating myself with new and interesting tricks.

What are some of the biggest challenges you face as a content creator and performer, and how do you overcome them?

As a content creator, the most challenging part is when you post something and want it to go viral, but sometimes, it doesnt go viral as expected. This can be disheartening.

I also face backlash from people who don’t like me. I don’t usually care about the backlash. People will hate you, but people will also like you. I care more about those who like me.

As a stage performer, the challenge is staying focused on the tricks I perform. I need to concentrate and avoid distractions as I cannot afford to make any mistakes during the show.

What are your goals for the next few years, and do you plan to explore new areas of entertainment or content creation?

I’m currently trying to create a series so I don’t have to keep thinking of new content ideas. For example, many content creators do a series like pranks, so each video is a prank, and they don’t need to think of other content. This is something I want to explore. My goals for the next few years are to gain more followers and to perform at D&D events.

Where do you see yourself, and what’s your vision for Singapore in the next five years?

For myself, as the years go by, I want to continue improving and hope to become famous like Mayiduo and Charlene.

As for the vision for Singapore, I think that’s for the ministers to decide.
