What inspired you to create a gym concept that integrates fitness, food, and nutrition?
Firstly, this is not a gym concept. This is a lifestyle support concept that anchors community by combining fitness, food, nutrition, and more. It takes a holistic approach to many domains that form a life: friendships, healthy food (and even junk food, yes), and mental wellness.
There’s so much more to it than just these three aspects. My concept is about integrating all aspects of life. I know that people need this because, like me, I was super overweight before. I used to lead an unhealthy lifestyle. My friends and I enjoyed life—working hard, eating hard, and playing hard. We were mostly sedentary. I realised I needed a change, and that’s when I came up with the idea that we need to focus on multiple aspects to help us improve.
Here, I provide an environment for people to shape up, feel happy, and achieve sustainable health through a holistic approach. I’m focused on giving people the support they need to succeed.
How did you identify the gap in the market for this unique approach to health and wellness?
In the market, we see many businesses focused solely on products to help people with weight management, but they miss the service aspect—there’s a huge gap. People assume all products are effective because they are well-researched, but the real focus should be on the service.
Service includes product knowledge, follow-up, and the ability to manage a community, inspire, and guide people through their personal journeys. This is all about psychology. There’s a significant market because many people focus on selling products without offering the necessary quality services or professionalism.
On the other hand, some people focus solely on fitness, but fitness only occupies a small part of life. It’s the other parts—like food, stress, and work—that take up the majority of our time and affect our results. I want to close this gap by creating a truly holistic environment where people can address all aspects of their health and wellness.
Can you share some challenges you faced when developing and launching this lifestyle concept?
One key challenge is the public’s mindset. People are often attracted to fitness because of the visibility of fitness trends on social media, but they don’t fully understand that fitness is just one piece of the puzzle. I can’t just promote a big airy-fairy concept and downplay the importance of fitness. So, I had to focus on educating people.
Another challenge is that many people are very fixated on certain dietary concepts, like intermittent fasting, keto, or others they’ve read about online. I had to educate them that just reading information from the internet or listening to pseudo-professionals is not enough. Many people in Singapore are highly educated, and they think they know a lot. This leads to ego, which makes them resistant to new ideas that might challenge their beliefs.
What challenges do you face when creating personalised fitness and weight loss plans for your clients?
I call myself an M.B.A. coach: Mind, Body, Action. I focus on preparing the mind first so that people can take effective actions with their bodies. Most people start by focusing on food and fitness plans, but my key strategy is to focus on the mindset first. If the mindset isn’t ready, the other things won’t work. There are plenty of resources online, like ChatGPT, where you can find fitness and weight loss plans.
But those plans are useless if your mindset isn’t aligned. So, I assess the client’s mindset on a scale from 1 to 10. If they’re at a 2 or 3, I know their mindset isn’t ready. I will then work with them to strengthen their mindset before moving on to nutrition and fitness plans.

What feedback have you received from clients about your integrated approach, and how has it shaped your offerings?
The results speak for themselves. Physically, clients see amazing transformations. Even medically, when they treat their bodies right, doctors notice improvements in their check-ups. Some clients have even reduced their medication or stopped taking it altogether. I’m just the facilitator—listening to the doctors and guiding the process.
Beyond physical changes, clients also experience mental benefits. They rediscover joy in life and develop a stronger love for life. For example, someone who has lost 20–30 kg realises the difference it makes—whether it’s travelling, climbing mountains, or having the energy to enjoy daily activities. When you’re fitter, healthier, and more energetic, you get more out of life. This is what I want my clients to feel.
How do you stay up to date with trends in fitness, nutrition, and weight loss management?
What if I told you there are no trends? The key to losing weight is simple: eat less, eat right, and move more. Trends are distractions. People get caught up in social media or workplace pressures, but the principles for health and wellness haven’t changed. It’s not about trends; it’s about applying the right mindset and principles to live a healthy life for many years to come.
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs who want to innovate in this fitness industry?
Innovation isn’t about programs or products. People are getting busier, so innovation should focus on helping people prioritise their health and fitness, even amidst their hectic schedules. This includes their mental health.
The biggest challenge is getting people to focus on their well-being. For entrepreneurs, it’s important to work hard and have faith that what you’re doing is right. Stay committed and keep pushing forward.
How do you envision the future of your dream and the wellness industry as a whole?
I’m excited about the future of my concept. I believe we’ve hit the right buttons by offering a holistic approach to life, not just focusing on any one aspect. In the wellness industry as a whole, the statistics show that obesity rates have been rising for the past two decades. This means that obesity-related diseases are also increasing.
People are living longer, but not always in good health, so the market is vast and only growing. In the next five years, I see myself and my business continuing to grow, with more partners and collaborators joining us to help serve others. The wellness industry will remain a cornerstone of society’s focus on health and longevity, and there’s always room for growth.
Can you share one success story from a client that highlights the impact of your integrated approach?
There are many success stories but one of them stood out in particular. She’s an undergraduate and she enjoys eating. She didn’t enjoy exercising either and so she gained a bit of weight. She was afraid of expressing herself.
When she joined our program, we customised the exercises for her to meet her physical fitness. After a few weeks, her new jeans dropped by 4 sizes. She was happier, her mom was happier. She’s now more confident of herself to socialise and make more friends.
Where do you see yourself and what’s your vision for Singapore in the next five years?
For me and my business, I see a future of more partnerships and collaborations, as we expand our reach and continue to serve others. The market is vast, and we have the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.
Singapore will continue to thrive. The wellness industry will remain a key focus, especially with ongoing efforts to address climate change, sustainability, and health. People in Singapore are living longer, but the health issues are not declining. There’s always room for growth in the wellness space.
